This pen drawing features the moorland heather, black faced sheep, the distinctive leaning block of the Higgar Tor crag, favoured by local climbers and the annual spectacle that is the cotton grass (bog cotton) around the Peak District.
The highly coloured view of the landscape and the naive style are representative of the artists’ optimistic outlook and his love for this area of the world.
